Blurb: Blake Duchamp...

He's all that Winter Adams can think of. Ever since their fateful meeting at Pilgrim's Lament. Ever since he looked at her with those emerald eyes. Ever since he saved her life.

But Blake isn't all that he seems. There is a strangeness about him, something dark and otherworldly. Something dangerous. In his attic is a secret he would kill to defend, but Winter seems to have a special ability to make him forget his duty. And he is her only protection against the gathering darkness.

The only problem is, to protect Winter, Blake must risk exposing her to an even greater danger. Himself.

Warning: This book will leave you breathless!

My Rating: 5 of 5

My Cover Thoughts: This book cover hands down is my favourite of all times. It is of a girl with fire engine red hair hugging on tight to a guy. You can tell she does not want to let him go for fear of losing him. He is hugging her back with as much love and adoration as if this was his last hug. The contrast of colours also draws you in and makes you want to pick the book up to see what is going on.

My Thoughts/Review: this story has captivated everyone I know. This book is only available in Australia and so many of us Americans asked our fellow bloggers in Australia if they were going to have a travelling book for this one and a lot of them are. I was lucky enough to get to read the book and then my best friend from Australia Ange sent me a copy! Yippee!

So now on to the story, Winter has just lost her parents and she is living with her sister. Her grades have plummeted so she needs to do an extra credit project to pass this class. She is given that opportunity to do that buy coming up with some great photos of the old church. She agrees and goes to the church and starts to take pictures when she comes across this guy putting flowers on a grave. She is instantly enthralled with him and has to get to know him. As the story goes on we learn that winter must make decisions that are very hard for her. She will also find out some things are not always what they seem and people are definitely not what they seem.

Winter will have to rely on her senses and instincts to get through this rough patch. What will winter do? What will she believe? Who will she believe? M.J. has spun such a wonderful tale that is both captivating and mesmerizing you will not be disappointed because I know I was not! This is a must for read for all paranormal lovers!

Memorable Quotes: "At least she hadn’t bothered to put any mascara on this morning; otherwise, she would certainly have serious panda eyes and look even more frightful."
